All Inspections

6 December 2012

During a routine inspection

We visited the offices from which the service operated. The service provided staff who made short visits to people in their own homes. The tasks completed by staff included support and advice with personal care, accessing health care facilities, budgeting, food preparation, and work and social activities. The aim of the organisation is to promote the independence of the people who use the service.

We interviewed four people who used the service. We visited three at home and talked with one person over the telephone.

Everyone we interviewed was positive about the service provided.

We asked:

"How do staff treat you?"

We were told:

'Ok, I enjoy it.'

'They've been good the carers. I have no problems with them if I did I'd tell you.'

'They treat me ok, there's no problem with them."

We found that staff were in the main suitably qualified to carry out their role, however first aid training needed to be updated.

We found the service had systems in place to protect the rights of people using the service. We saw that people experienced effective safe and appropriate support. We found the staffing structure and staff deployment met the needs of people using the service.
