The purpose of the inspection was to check whether actions required following our last inspection of 10 June 2013 had been completed. We looked at medication procedures and found that these were now in accordance with the regulations and medication was administered, recorded and stored safely.

The service did not directly employ any care staff and used family members to provide cover to one of the providers who delivered care and support on a daily basis. This meant that there were no recruitment records in place. The provider agreed to take further steps to ensure that people who used the service were not at risk.

We have made compliance actions with regards to the management of medication and the requirements relating to workers as we found current practices at the service were placing people at potential risk.
