During a routine inspection

During our visit on 15 November 2011 we did not speak directly to the people receiving the support offered, we did talk with the carers and families. We were told how well the co-ordination of the care and therapeutic support given had been managed. We were also told how difficult and bureaucratic some hoops had been and that the help provided by this specialist team had not only involved, included and informed the carers but how things had improved the well being for the person receiving the service.

The family members and main carers spoken with were very positive about the way this team had supported them.

We were told about the very complex needs required for one person and how the support offered had allowed the whole family to be included in the tailor made care package.

We were told, 'We just did not know what or how to go about getting the correct support to ensure the quality of the care was put in place.' 'The team are very proactive.' 'We could not have achieved this suitable care package without their expertise.'
