During a routine inspection

During the visit, we spoke with one person who used the service. They told us that the staff clearly explained the process and they were fully aware of the risks and benefits of the scan procedure they had undertaken.

The person we spoke with told us they were happy with the way the procedure was carried out. They told us they were treated with respect and the staff made the overall experience pleasant.

The person we spoke with told us that they felt safe and had no concerns about the service they received. They told us the staff were very polite and helpful. They also told us that the staff were knowledgeable.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who used the service and they told us that the treatment options were clearly explained to them by the staff.

The people we spoke with told us they were happy with the services provided. They told us they were treated with respect and were happy that the service was local, convenient and closer to their homes meaning they didn't have to attend the hospital.

The people we spoke with told us they felt the treatment room was clean and well maintained. They told us they were happy with the staff and that the staff were very friendly and courteous.

The people we spoke with told us they were delighted with the service provided and that if they had any concerns they would raise them with the service or their General Practitioner (GP).

During a routine inspection

We interviewed one patient that was attending for an ultrasound scan. They told us they were happy with the service, particular they commented that they found the service more friendly and accessible because it was a service held within the community. They told us that staff took time to discus the ultrasound scan and to ensure that they fully understood the results. We saw the following patient comments in the survey undertaken in November 2011:

'A very patient friendly experience, the waiting time was minimal. The surroundings pleasant, the staff very amicable. I most definitely feel ultrasound in the community puts the patients first'

'Very clear information given and friendly staff'
