All Inspections

During a routine inspection

We spoke with people who used the service and their relatives who told us that staff consulted them and respected and acted on the decisions they made about the care and support they agreed to.

Our observations showed us that people were given the support and attention they needed and had a positive experience of being included in conversations, decision making and activities.

The plans of care contained the information staff members needed to ensure that the health and safety of people was promoted.

People who used the service and their relatives told us that people received the care and support they needed and that staff were very kind.

People using the service and relatives told us that there were enough staff provided to ensure that call-bells were answered in a timely manner.

Complaints were dealt with appropriately and people were able to access and use the complaints system in a format that met their needs.

During an inspection in response to concerns

People told us that they were happy living in Redgate House. They felt that the staff were very caring and able to meet their needs. People also told us that staff were always there to "give me a hand if I need it. One person told us that "Nothing is too much trouble". The girls are as kind as can be."

We were told that people were given a choice about how they spent their time and they also told us that they "Get up and go to bed whenever they want".

Two relatives spoken with said that they were happy with the care given and that staff were always supportive. One person told us that "I couldn't fault them, they have given my relative a quality of care that I could never give at home". It doesn't matter what time of day I come and visit, the care is always the same and my relative is always clean and presentable."

One person told us, "They seem to know what they are doing, they do different training."
