During a routine inspection

We spoke with people who used the service, reviewed records and inspected infection control arrangements. We found that people received care and treatment which had been well documented and provided by staff who were qualified to do so. We spoke with people who used the service who stated that they were happy that the scan they had chosen and that the cost had been clearly explained. People told us that they were pleased with the service they'd received from the member of staff undertaking the scan. However, one person commented that they were not satisfied with the quality of the scan they received due to the positioning of the baby and that they felt this had not been sufficiently explained. Ultrababy had undertaken taken action to support this person in an to attempt to improve the quality of the scan.

We saw that there was a complaints policy was in place but required some additional information. The complaints we reviewed had been dealt with appropriately.

During a routine inspection

During our visit, we spoke with several people using the service. They were all complimentary about the staff and the service. A person remarked, "The staff are very polite and welcoming. Staff know what the job is about. We are very pleased with the service."

People were treated with respect and dignity, and their preferences were respected. For example, a couple said that they did not want to buy the printed scanned image of their baby and their wishes were respected.
