During an inspection looking at part of the service
At that time we found that some of the decoration, furniture and furnishings in the home were not of an acceptable standard and shortfalls were identified regarding cleanliness and infection control.
We found that the provider had not ensured that new staff were receiving appropriate induction training. She had also not put in place arrangements to identify, assess and manage identified risks to the health, welfare and safety of people living in the home..
At this inspection we found that some improvements needed to achieve compliance had been made.
People we spoke with, including the person living in the home and their relative were satisfied with the care and support provided:
'I like it here, everyone is very kind. It's comfortable and the food is very good'.
''The care is excellent and my mother is very happy. She has lived there for more than 15 years, it is her home and if she had to move out I think it would kill her''.
They also spoke of the kindness of the care workers, who they described as being 'always so helpful'.
A care worker told us that she felt supported by the manager and had completed various training courses over recent months, including safeguarding.
