During a routine inspection

During our visit we spoke with three members of staff, three people using the service, and one relative. We also reviewed three care plans and two staff personnel files.

Before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes.

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. One person told us that the staff were "very good at explaining things" and were "respectful of people's privacy". Another person told us that the staff were "very good at listening" to the people who are using the service. A relative we spoke with said that the care provided was "amazing".

People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff.

The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive.

There was an effective complaints system available. Two of the people using the service told us that any concerns they had were always dealt with promptly and satisfactorily by the manager. One relative we spoke with said the manager was "very approachable" and welcomed comments about how the service could be improved.

During a routine inspection

People who used the service told us they were happy with the care provided by the organisation. One person told us: 'I get the help whenever I need it. If I have any concerns, I can go to the manager and get it sorted.' People told us they were involved in making decisions about their care. They felt the staff respected their privacy and dignity.

We spoke with three people who told us they made their own choices and decisions. Only if they needed any support would they then get this from members of staff. They said that they liked the staff and got on well with them. They described the staff as kind and caring.
