We also found that support and interventions were tailored around peoples' individual needs because an initial assessment was carried out and support was planned and delivered to meet those needs. People were also supported by a staff team that made themselves available to help with any potentially unsafe or difficult situations at unusual hours. One person said, "We can contact them at any time. They are just as helpful on the 'phone day or night."
People using this service felt safe and we were satisfied with the level of knowledge and understanding the staff had about recognising and dealing with abusive situations. We also found that there were sufficient numbers of staff with appropriate skills to meet people's needs.
The provider carried out audits of the service to ensure that it was delivered safely and people's views were elicited in order to drive improvements in the service.
