During an inspection looking at part of the service

People told us that the home was very nice, and that if they asked for something, they always got it. One person told us that occasionally she had to wait for a short while when she had requested assistance, as they were sometimes short on staff. One person told us she loved her room and would not change anything about the home.

During an inspection in response to concerns

People told us that they were well cared for in the home. They said they were well supported with their personal and health care, mobility and diet.

They said that the staff did not hesitate to call the doctor if required and that other health care professionals were involved in the care when necessary.

One person said,' I have everything done for me. I only have to ask'.

People told us that they felt safe in the home. They said they could discuss any concerns they had with the staff. Observations during the visit showed there was a relaxed atmosphere in the home and people chatted freely and openly with each other, the staff and management.

Staff gave examples of what they would do if they suspected abuse and told us how and where they would report any suspicions or concerns about the safety and wellbeing of the people

The people who lived at The Elizabeth Anne told us that they were happy with the care and support that they received.

People told us the staff were kind and caring. We saw positive interactions between people and staff.

People and their relatives told us that there was a good atmosphere at the home. They said the staff team worked well together.

Staff told us that they were concerned about the new mangement of the home. They said that they felt unsupported and that they had not received up any training since May 2011.

During a routine inspection

People told us they had been involved in discussions about the help they needed and their preferred day to day routines. All people we spoke with said they liked living at The Elizabeth Anne Nursing Home. They said they were happy with the support they received, and that the staff were kind, caring and on hand to help when needed. People said they liked the food and that there was a choice of menu and that they chose where to eat. They said they knew who to speak to should they have any concerns and that the management team were always accessible.
