During a routine inspection

People who used the service spoke positively about the care and support they received. One person told us that they were 'Well looked after and the food is good.' Another said the home was 'Excellent.' and that they were 'Impressed at the standard of care.' They told us that there were plenty of activities to do and they could play bingo or dominoes if they wished.

People who used the service had individual care plans. The plans were personalised and included information about people's likes and dislikes. Each person who used the service had a named member of staff who acted as their 'key worker'. The staff we spoke with were knowledgeable about the people they cared for and talked warmly about them and their needs.

We found that the home looked clean, tidy and was free from malodours. The furnishings in the lounges, visitors' room, dining areas and bedrooms were in good condition. The carpets and chairs were free from marks and stains. The bathrooms and toilets were clean, hand washing materials and personal protective equipment (gloves and aprons) were available.

The staff told us that they felt that they worked well as a team. They told us that they had regular staff meetings, one to one supervision sessions and annual appraisals. The provider monitored the quality of the service and sought the views of people who used the service, their relatives and visiting professionals to identify areas for improvement.
