During a routine inspection

During our visit people who used the service were advised that we were completing an inspection and people were invited to speak to us. However only one person wished to comment. We also spoke with two staff from an external agency.

We found that before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. One person who used the service told us that their recovery programme had been explained to them and they had consented to their treatment. They also told us the staff were "Good at contacting other agencies."

People who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. One person told us that they felt safe when visiting the service.

There were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. One person told us, "I like coming here, it's easy to talk to the staff, they are easy to get on with. You all have a key worker to speak to but you can talk to anyone."

People's personal records including medical records were accurate and fit for purpose. One person said "You can go through your records at your one to one meeting."

During a routine inspection

During the site visit we spoke with two people who used the service. They told us that the service and treatment they would receive was explained to them in detail before they started the programme. We found they were involved in care planning and had consented to the care and treatment they were to receive. One person told us 'I have a care plan and we have a meeting to discuss this every month.'

People felt that their privacy and dignity was respected and one person said "They treat everyone the same and don't judge people."

People told us they were satisfied with the arrangements to protect them from infection. We found that there were satisfactory arrangements in place to protect people from cross infection.

People told us that they were very satisfied with the key worker arrangements and they liked the staff who worked for the agency. They told us they found the staff to be knowledgeable.

We found staff had received regular supervision and training relevant to their role.

People we spoke with told us they were aware of the complaints procedure but had not had cause to make a complaint.

During a routine inspection

During the site visit we spoke to two people who used the service. They were very complimentary about the service they received and about the staff who supported them. They confirmed that they had a care plan and that this was reviewed with them every month. Both people described the staff as very supportive and said that there was always some one available should they require support. Comments about their key workers included 'brilliant' and 'very good'. One person described how they had been assisted to gain a work placement and said they couldn't have achieved this without the support they had received
