All Inspections

During a routine inspection

At the time of our visit there were eleven people using the service. We had been informed by the provider that the service was due to close in the coming months and people's needs were being re-assessed to ensure they moved onto other appropriate services.

During our visit we spoke with one person who uses the service. Most of the people who use the service had complex needs which meant they could not talk with us so we observed what took place and the support that staff gave to people. We also spoke with two care staff. People who use the service told us they liked living at the home. They told us that they enjoyed Christmas and showed us some of the gifts they had received. The staff we spoke with said they felt there was good team work and there were enough staff to meet people's needs.

However, we found that staff were not always respectful towards the people who use the service, particularly during lunchtime and when they supported people to eat.

During a routine inspection

The majority of people living at the service have profound physical and learning difficulties. They were not able to tell us directly about the care that they received and experienced. During our visit we observed and found that people were receiving care, treatment and support that met their individual needs and preferences.

People living at the service have choices in all aspects of their daily living. They have their privacy and dignity respected. People are provided with information that supports and enables them to make decisions about their care and treatment. Some people communicated to us that they were being well looked after.
