During a routine inspection
We found that people using the service were respected and involved in their care and support, and that care was provided in line with people's needs. However we found that the provider was not providing adequate guidance and training to their staff to protect people from the risk of abuse. Their recruitment and induction processes did not ensure that employees were appropriate people and had the necessary skills and knowledge to provide social care. People were at risk of inappropriate care because care plans were incomplete and not fit for purpose. Other records to do with the management of the service were missing or inadequate.
The registered manager was not available at the time of our visits. We spoke instead with the care manager, who had been in post for three months at the time, and had identified areas for improvement before our visits.
