All Inspections

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who use the service and one person who used to use the service. We also used the Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI). SOFI is a specific way of observing care to help us understand the experience of people. All the people we spoke with said they were involved in making decisions regarding their care. When we observed the interaction between staff and people who use the service, staff ensured people understood what was being explained and involved people in their care.

All the people we spoke with told us that although their needs were assessed, they did not feel it was done appropriately. However, they said care was planned and the treatment provided by some staff was good. We found the service monitored people's health and wellbeing to ensure people were responding to the treatment provided.

All the people we spoke with were happy with the premises and said they had everything they needed.

Two people we spoke with said they had not received holistic therapy and not received support for two weeks from a psychotherapist and they felt they did not get all the treatment they required. However we found there were sufficient members of staff to cater for people's needs.

The people we spoke with said they had either not seen their care plan or not received a copy of it. When people said they had received a document, they felt it was not correct. However, when we viewed the service records, they were fit for purpose.

During a routine inspection

People told us that they were involved in their treatment, support and care. They said that they were given information about the service for them to decide whether they wanted to use it. They reported that their consent was always sought by staff before they received treatment, care and support.

They told us that they were satisfied with the quality of care that they received in the home and that staff were supportive and helpful. They liked the food and said that staff supported them with recreational and social activities or talked to them to prevent them from getting bored.

People liked their rooms and the general environment that the home provided. They thought that the home was clean and well maintained. They knew that they could complain or report their concerns to staff and that these would be taken seriously and addressed.
