During a routine inspection

People were satisfied with the service provided, one person told us, 'It's good, I'm happy with it'. People told us the staff were respectful of their rights to privacy and dignity and they were supported to maintain and build their independence skills.

People's care and support was planned and delivered in accordance with their needs. People had detailed individual support plans which were underpinned by a series of risk assessments. People told us they discussed their needs with staff and had been fully involved in the development and review of their plans.

People were provided with a well maintained and comfortable environment. Appropriate arrangements were in place for all repairs and maintenance.

New staff were thoroughly checked before they started working for the service. This meant the provider ensured staff were suitable to work with people using the service.

There were effective systems in place to monitor and assess the quality of the service. People were asked their opinion of the service on a regular basis and were given the opportunity to complete a customer satisfaction questionnaire. This meant people were able to have input into the development of the service.

During a routine inspection

People were satisfied with the service provided, one person told us, 'It's nice here, I like it' and another person said the staff were 'Brilliant'. People told us their rights to privacy, dignity and independence were upheld and respected.

People's care was planned and delivered in accordance with their needs. People had individual care plans which were supported by a series of risk assessments and daily care records. This meant people's care could be readily monitored and evaluated.

Staff had an understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adult procedures and knew who to contact in the event of a concern.

Members of staff confirmed they were provided with appropriate training opportunities and received regular supervision. We saw completed records of staff training and supervision during the inspection.

There were effective systems in place to monitor and assess the quality of the service, which icluded gathering the views of people using the service.

During a routine inspection

People told us they were happy living in the home and they were consulted about the way they wished their care to be delivered. They said they were able to express their views, and their opinions were taken seriously and acted upon. One person said, 'I like living here, it's good'. People spoken with felt they were well cared for and the staff respected their rights to privacy, dignity and independence. People were supported to participate in a variety of activities both inside and outside the home.

People were involved in the assessment and care planning processes, which meant they were able to make informed decisions about their care and support. People attended residents' meetings on a monthly basis, which gave them the chance to discuss daily life in the home and forthcoming events.

Staff were provided in sufficient numbers to meet the needs of the people living in the home and they had a wide range of training opportunities. Staff were also supported in their work and were able to attend regular meetings.

People made positive comments about the staff team and felt they could talk to any of the staff or the manager if they had a problem or query.
