During a routine inspection

Care and treatment was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. Women's needs were assessed before any treatment was planned. People who use the service were given appropriate information regarding their care or treatment. Printed information was available on the various conditions and treatments for women using the service.

We looked at satisfaction survey results for 2014 for 14 respondents. Overall the respondents expressed high levels of satisfaction about service they had. Free text comments included: ''Mrs Wilson and her team are doing a fantastic job'' and ''Excellent service, very professional / efficient.''

People who use the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

Staff received appropriate professional development. The doctor was on the speciality register for the General Medical Council (GMC) and we saw certificates to demonstrate that staff had completed mandatory and continuing professional development (CPD) training.

The provider had systems to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of people using the service and staff.

We spoke with people who used the service and looked at eleven patient feedback forms. People were satisfied with the care and treatment received. They felt that the procedures had been explained well and found the written information provided comprehensive. Consent had been obtained by the most appropriate person at a separate consent appointment and the possible risks and benefits had been outlined.

Care was planned in a way to ensure people's safety. People were assessed by the practitioner to determine whether the treatment requested would be suitable. People were provided with post-operative advice and information. There were procedures in place to deal with medical emergencies.

The clinic was clean and well maintained. There were systems in place to reduce the risk of infection, including a policy on infection control and cleaning checklists.

There was a complaints policy in place and people were given information on how to make a complaint. People we spoke with and the comments from the patient feedback forms were complimentary about staff.
