During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people who were using the service during our inspection. They all told us they were satisfied with the service they had received and said staff had treated them with respect. Comments included, 'The staff are very nice' and 'I've found the staff very approachable'.

All three people told us they had received a thorough consultation. They said they had received enough information to make an informed decision about their treatment options and were given time to ask questions. People told us they were also given their own BPAS guide that provided them with lots of important information about procedures and aftercare advice.

Everyone considered staff were efficient and knowledgeable about the range of procedures appropriate to their assessed needs. Staff had attended training courses to keep people safe and appropriate to their role.

Staff were aware of their role and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding vulnerable people. They were confident in their responses in what they would do if they suspected abuse. Staff had contact details of external local agencies should they need advice or make a safeguarding referral.

People had access to a complaints procedure. The people we spoke with were confident that any concerns raised would be appropriately addressed.

During an inspection looking at part of the service

We carried out this review to check on the care and welfare of people using this service. We did not review every outcome for this provider. We were proportionate in our approach and focused on outcomes four and 16.

We spoke with four people who used the service to gain their experiences of the service they had received. All of the people we spoke with were very positive about the service. They told us that they were very satisfied and that they had been treated with respect and their privacy and dignity had been maintained. They said they received their appointment following their referral in a speedy manner. They told us that staff were sensitive to their circumstances and were non judgemental. They said staff fully explained the treatment options available to them and gave them all the information they needed to make an informed decision. One person told us, 'The staff are really nice and efficient here. I'm going for my procedure tomorrow which is amazing I never expected it to be done so quickly. It's brilliant'.

We spoke with four staff during our visit to include the registered manager and the clinic consultation manager. Staff appeared very committed to their work. They told us they received lots of training opportunities and had attended training to equip them with the skills and knowledge to do their work. Discussions with staff clearly evidenced that each person is considered an individual and placed at the centre of their care, treatment and support.

Following treatment bpas ask people to complete a survey called 'Your opinion counts'. This helps gain people's experiences of the service they received and asks people if they have any suggestions for improvement.
