All Inspections

During a routine inspection

We pathway tracked one person who attended the service on the day of our inspection. We found that all staff treated the person with sensitivity and respect. The person was appropriately screened by a qualified member of staff. The person was given information about the treatment options available to them which was supported by written information.

We found that the risks of treatment were explained during consultation and a booklet was given to people which contained information on the risks and complications of each procedure.

We found that people were asked for their consent prior to booking an appointment for treatment.

Staff had been screened to ensure they had the appropriate qualifications and were suitable to work with vulnerable adults. Staff had been provided with appropriate training to enable them to carry out their roles effectively.

The service had an appropriate complaints handling policy in place.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people who had attended an appointment on the day of our visit. People told us they had been involved in all aspects of decision making relating to their care and that they understood the options available to them.

We observed several consultations and saw that the service gathered information such as people's medical history and obstetric history. Everybody attending the service was scanned so the pregnancy could be dated. Treatment options that were discussed with people were based on the results of the dating scan. We found that the risks of treatment were explained during consultation and a booklet was given to people which contained information on the risks and complications of each procedure.

We found staff members were knowledgeable about processes to follow if they had concerns about someone. Staff had been given adequate support and training to enable them to provide appropriate care and support to people.

People had been asked for feedback on the service at the end of their treatment. We looked at the results of this and found that feedback was positive and that improvements had been made as a result.
