During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people. They were all happy with the care they received. One person said "a thorough explanation was provided". The provider followed appropriate procedures to gain consent. The service shared relevant information with the person's GP, with consent.

The clinic had a lead nurse to manage the handling of medicines. Approved Patient Group Directions were in place. These authorised nurses to supply and administer certain prescription only medicines.

Staff were recruited appropriately in accordance with BPAS recruitment procedures.

People were made aware of the service complaints procedure however, the service had not received any formal complaints.

During a themed inspection looking at Termination of Pregnancy Services

We did not speak to people who used this service as part of this review. We looked at a random sample of medical records. This was to check that current practice ensured that no treatment for the termination of pregnancy was commenced unless two certificated opinions from doctors had been obtained.
