During a routine inspection

We were told by the patients that used the service, “The staff are kind and non-judgemental, very kind and professional.”

Staff told us that they worked on their own supported by the BPAS counselling advisor and they worked closely as a team. The staff member said “Very good company to work for.”

We found that patients felt fully involved in their care and treatment. We saw that all aspects of treatment was consented to, and documented by both the patients and staff.

Patients were cared for by staff who were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard.

Patients who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.

The consulting rooms seen were clean, hygienic and comfortable. We saw that the service followed the procedures and policies for infection control.

During a themed inspection looking at Termination of Pregnancy Services

We did not speak to people who used this service as part of this review. We looked at a random sample of medical records. This was to check that current practice ensured that no treatment for the termination of pregnancy was commenced unless two certificated opinions from doctors had been obtained.
