Our expert by experience, who accompanied us on our visit, spoke with the majority of service users. Specifically they discussed with them their experiences and views in respect of the way they were cared for whilst at Henesy House. Comments received included: 'There always seems to be enough staff. I never have to wait very long when I require assistance', 'They try hard to make you better', 'I'm glad to be going home tomorrow, but I will miss the people here ' they're like family now'.

Service users were being supported and enabled to make informed choices about their programme of rehabilitation, care and support. There care and welfare needs were also being appropriately met.

Suitable action had been taken to minimise the spread of potential infections. Appropriate arrangements were in place to ensure a suitable staff recruitment system was operated. Staff were being properly supported and received regular training to ensure service users needs were being appropriately met. Suitable arrangements had been made to monitor the safety and quality of the services provided at Henesy House.

'I have no concerns about how I have been cared for or treated. In fact I have nothing but praise about my time here.'

'All the staff respect my privacy and speak to me in a respectful way.'

'The food is really good. But if there is something you don't like they will make you something else'.

'I have liked most of the meals. They (staff) ask you what you would like and there is always plenty to eat.'

'My appetite has not been good for a long time but the food is good. Since I have come here they (staff) have given me special drinks to build me up again.'
