During a routine inspection
People we contacted told us they were getting the service they wanted and agreed to. Everything was planned to suit them including what time carers visited. Their carers followed their support plan and were flexible in their work.
'They make sure I get all the help I need. They are flexible.' And 'I have regular carers attending to him. They get on with things they need to do. We understand each other very well, and as I live nearby I can pop in to see that everything is ok. There are no problems with his carers.'
Quality monitoring survey's showed people thought the service was good. One person wrote, 'The care provided at ABACUS meets all his needs. regular carers are excellent'.
There were arrangements in place for staff to gain entry and to keep people's home secure when they left. Staff were bound by contractual arrangements to be respectful to people and their property.
People received care from staff that were carefully recruited and of good character. Staff were trained and supported to care for people safely.
People were consulted about the service they received and could request for changes to be made, for example times of visits and support they needed.
People were able to raise any issue of concern they had and be confident the provider acted swiftly to resolve any issue they had.
