During a routine inspection

Before people received any care or treatment they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. There were consent forms for the various treatments, for example there were consent forms for laser treatments, tattoo removal and surgical procedures. We looked at people's files and saw a range of completed consent forms.

People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. People had individual treatment plans. Medical histories were taken and updated at every visit. All staff received emergency first aid training on an annual basis.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. Personal protective equipment was worn by staff when treating people. Infection control audits were carried out every six months for the treatment rooms and monthly for the theatre. On the day of our visit the practice was clean and well maintained.

Equipment was maintained and serviced on an annual basis. There were arrangements in place to record and report faults to the equipment, with a contract in place for engineers to attend promptly if a fault was discovered. Appropriate records were maintained to show that equipment was tested and to monitor usage.

The provider had a complaints policy which outlined how complaints could be made and how they would be dealt with. Complaints could be made verbally or in writing.

During a routine inspection

We did not speak to people who use the service on this inspection. Regular surveys by the provider showed that people were very satisfied with the information they had received and the way they were treated.

People gave feedback that the environment was clean and hygienic and that they were treated safely by competent staff.
