During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke with three people who used the service who told us they were happy with the service they received from Housing 21. People told us that staff were polite and that the service was reliable. One person said "The staff are very good. They always ring the bell and wait for me to call them in before they come in." Another person told us, "They always arrive when they are meant to, the one time that they were late they called before to let me know. I feel secure knowing that someone will be popping in to check that I'm ok."

We reviewed three care records and saw that people's preferences and care needs had been well documented. We spoke with two members of staff. Staff were knowledgeable about the people's care needs and what they should do to support them. People told us the care they received was good. One person said, "This is a wonderful service. The staff will help me with anything that I ask. I couldn't ask for more."

Staff training was kept up to date so that staff could care for people safely and to an appropriate standard.

We found that the provider had made suitable arrangements to protect vulnerable people from the risk of abuse.

There was an effective system in place to monitor and assess the quality of the service.
