During an inspection in response to concerns

People we spoke to told us they liked living at this home. They said that staff were friendly and kind. One person told us that they were looked after very well and described staff as very attentive. Another person described the home as beautiful. All comments made to us about the staff and the care people received were positive. People said they had to wait for assistance from staff at busy times of the day. One person also said that staff did not have time to stay and chat with them as they were too busy. People told us they were able to spend their day as they wished although on the day of our visit most people were in their own rooms rather than the communal areas of the home. People told us they would speak with the manager or a member of staff if they had any concerns and they were confident that they would be listened to.

During an inspection in response to concerns

People told us they liked living at Dussindale Park. They told us that the staff were friendly and helpful. People said they received support from staff when they needed it although there was sometimes a need to wait a short while at busy times of the day. They also said that they were able to make decisions about their daily living and that these choices were respected by staff. People liked their rooms and appreciated that they were able to have their own belongings with them. They told us that they were able to join in with activities if they wanted but one person said she preferred to stay in her own room, where she could spend her day as she wished.

One person said she felt that some of the staff were her friends and that she would be able to confide in them if she needed to.

We observed the interactions between staff and people using the service. These interactions were appropriate and ensured that people were treated with dignity and respect.
