During a routine inspection

It was not possible to obtain the opinions of the person supported or their representative about these outcomes as both declined to provide feedback when asked. We saw evidence in the file of their involvement in planning the care to be provided. The care plan also contained some details of the person's individual wishes and preferences. There was evidence that steps were taken to maximise dignity and privacy. Appropriate risk assessments had been completed and suitable equipment provided to meet the needs of the person being supported. We found that there were still some gaps in the training provided to staff. There were also gaps in practice monitoring visits, supervision meetings and appraisals of staff.

During an inspection in response to concerns

We spoke to the mother of the person supported in her own home by the agency. She was happy that the staff were competent to meet her daughter's needs. She said that support had been obtained from a specialist healthcare agency to help meet her daughter's needs. She told us the agency had supported her daughter well and the agency staff had taken her daughter out a lot in the community. She was satisfied that they kept good records of any incidents or events. She had been involved in reviews and care planning for her daughter.
