During a routine inspection

People's privacy, dignity and independence were respected. People's views and experiences were taken into account in the way the service was provided and delivered in relation to their care. One person said "we met with Pete (the manager) and he told us what the charity did and what they could help us with. We were able to say what we needed help with".

People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. Comments from those who were supported with personal care included "I'm really pleased with the service. I find it really beneficial", "they're just there when you need them" and "they make it a lot easier".

People who used the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. Comments included "(my child) is in safe hands" and "whoever comes from Rainbow Trust, we can trust them".

People were cared for, or supported by, suitably qualified, skilled and experienced staff. One person said "they're competent and have a professional attitude but they are also caring".

The provider had an effective system to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive. These included case studies, surveys and internal quality audits. Comments included "Pete (the manager) has called a few times to ask if there's anything I need or anything they can do".

During a routine inspection

People were satisfied with the service they received. Comments included "they're really good!" and "if Rainbow hadn't been there for me in my hour of need I don't know what I would have done." Before people received any support they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes.

People were happy with the support they received from staff. One person said "I'm very happy with the support I receive." They told us they felt safe with the staff who visited them and that they were made aware of what to do if they had any concerns. People were aware of the complaints procedure and they told us they knew who to complain to if they wanted to and they felt that they would be listened to.

During a routine inspection

Positive feed back was received from people using the service and they all highlighted that they were very satisfied with the service provided by the agency. One parent said 'All of the workers are so nice. I can talk to all of them. They come to the hospital with me and I get loads off my chest. I could not do it with out them.' Another parent informed 'The service is absolutely wonderful. They contact us all the time to see if we are alright and ask us if we need anything else. They are really, really good.' 'The service is excellent my care worker is brilliant. She is so nice and is so supportive. They are absolutely brilliant' said a parent.
