During a routine inspection
All the people we spoke with made positive comments about the staff and were satisfied with the quality of care that they had received. People told us that they had regular support workers. Their comments included: 'all the staff are very good', 'they are gentle and they don't rush me', 'the staff support me to go to the hospital for my regular check-ups', 'absolutely wonderful staff, I couldn't praise them enough' and 'they (staff) stay the full time and complete all the tasks in my care plan'.
People told us that they felt "safe" and that they had no worries or concerns. They all said that if they had any concerns or worries they would speak to a family member or staff.
All the staff we spoke with were clear about what their roles and responsibilities were and the action they would take if they saw or suspected any abuse.
We found that the service had effective recruitment and selection procedures in place.
Comments and complaints people made were responded to appropriately.
