Our view of the service

Everycare Midsussex is a Domiciliary Care Agency (DCA). The service provides care and support to people in their own home. The service supported 59 people with the regulated activity of personal care. We began our off-site assessment activity on 12 December 2023, visited the service to carry out our on-site assessment on 14 December 2023 and concluded on 22 December 2023. We looked at 5 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control and Equity in experiences and outcomes. Following the assessment, the service has received an overall rating of good for all quality statements assessed. People told us they felt safe and spoke highly of the support they received from a consistent team of staff. Staff had received training and demonstrated a good understanding of their responsibilities to safeguard people and support them to manage risks. Staff told us they were well supported in their roles and there were enough staff to support people safely. People described being supported by kind and caring staff who knew them well and focused on supporting them to remain as independent as possible. Staff were consistent in involving people in planning and reviewing their care and support. Care plans reflected people’s involvement, and staff took account of their wishes and respected their choices. The provider’s systems were effective in supporting people’s diverse needs and protecting their rights.

People's experience of this service

People spoke highly of the support they received. One person told us, "The care is lovely. There are a core set of carers that all have the relevant training and knowledge. They are kind, helpful, friendly and on time. I know I can rely on them." People told us there were enough staff to support them and spoke of how the staff kept them informed if there were changes to the staffing. One other person said," I get a rota every week and on Friday they call to check the rota. They keep to time and if anything occurs they will try to replace the carer or they will ring me".
