Inspection carried out on 8 May 2013

During a routine inspection

We spoke with seven patients by telephone following our visit to the service. People were complimentary about the quality of the service provided at the practice. One patient told us "I have always found the practice to be very professional”. Another said "I am delighted with the service. All the staff are very professional, friendly and welcoming”. People told us they had been visiting the practice for a number of years and knew and trusted the staff. They said dentists explained treatment options to them in a way they could understand and fully explained the various costs involved.

We saw the provider sought consent for treatment. Records for people who used the services were up-to-date and appropriately stored. Medical and dental information was documented. The premises were clean and well organised and staff routinely followed infection control procedures when carrying out treatments. Staff received appropriate training to enhance their knowledge and skills and to keep them up-to-date. The practice had a complaints procedure and people felt they would be listened to if they raised a concern or had a complaint about the services provided.
