The overall rating for the key question Responsive is Requires Improvement, however, the quality statement assessed Equality in access was Good. People had access to the support they needed from health professionals when their needs changed. We assessed a total of 8 quality statements from the safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led key questions and found areas of good practice. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last inspection. Though the assessment of these 8 quality statements indicated areas of good practice since the last inspection, our overall rating remains requires improvement.

Equity in access

People and relatives told us, they had access to healthcare professionals, such as the dietician or speech and language therapist, when they needed it. People told us they were seen by the GP when they were unwell and staff supported them to attend hospital appointments.

Staff understood their responsibility to monitor people's health and obtain support from healthcare professionals when required . Staff monitored people's weight regularly and referred people to the dietican if they had lost weight. Senior care staff told us how they contacted the GP and district nurse when people's needs changed or they were unwel.
