The Care Quality Commission has found the quality of care provided by Home Instead Senior Care (Ipswich, Woodbridge & Felixstowe) to be Outstanding following an inspection in September.
Home Instead Senior Care (Ipswich, Woodbridge & Felixstowe) is a large domiciliary care service which provides personal care and support to people living in their own homes. When we inspected on 20 and 22 September 2017 there were 112 people using the service.
Inspectors found staff were caring and compassionate and people were being provided with safe, responsive, caring, effective and well-led care.
Under CQC’s programme of inspections, all adult social care services are being given a rating according to whether they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Home Instead Senior Care (Ipswich, Woodbridge & Felixstowe) was rated Outstanding for being caring, effective, responsive and well-led and Good for being safe.
Jemima Burnage, CQC’s Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care in the central region said:
“Our inspection team was really impressed by the level of care and support offered to people using Home Instead Senior Care (Ipswich, Woodbridge & Felixstowe).
“The leadership was visible and effective and there was an open and transparent culture at this service that resulted in it being effectively organised and well run. Robust quality assurance systems had sustained continual development and improvement at the service, and we found staff were passionate and committed to delivering the highest standard of care.
“Morale was high and, without exception, people and their relatives were extremely complimentary about their experience of using the service. They were full of praise for the staff and told us they were incredibly kind, compassionate and respectful. They spoke of how they trusted and felt safe with the caregivers, who knew them well and encouraged them to be as independent as possible.
“They also shared examples of how the caregivers consistently provided them with personalised, tailored care; taking the time to ensure every small detail of the care provided met their individual needs and wishes.
“Everybody we spoke with said they would highly recommend the service.
“In addition, the high quality of the service's training for staff had been recognised in the Suffolk Care Awards 2017, winning the 'excellent training' category. It was highly commended in the category for innovative approaches to service for dementia in the community.
“All of this meant people received a high standard of care, which is why it has been rated Outstanding.”

“The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements.
