We publish information on the health and social care services we've inspected – including hospitals, clinics, dentists, care homes and home care agencies.

We inspect every health and social care service in England to make sure it's safe, effective, caring, responsive to people's needs and well-led, and we publish what we find.

You can read an overview of how each service is doing or read more detailed reports, which our inspectors write each time they carry out an inspection.

Use our website to search for care

Start your search by using the search box, which you can find at the top of our home page and most other pages on our website.

To help you narrow down to the most relevant information, you can use the dropdown menu to search by the type of service, the name of the service or by location.

Search results

Our search results give you an overview of each service and our ratings will help you compare and choose services at a glance.

Care service pages

Click on a care service in the search list to see more detailed information and inspection reports. You can use these to help you decide which service will offer you the best care.

We give an overview for each service, which shows what we found when we asked five key questions: is the service safe, is it effective, is it caring, is it responsive to people's needs and is it well-led? Click the chapter headings to read our latest findings on each question.

You can also download the full inspection reports (past and present) as PDF files from the bottom of the page. Reports published by the health and social care regulators before CQC are available on request. You can find our details on the Contact us page.

Give feedback on your care

From each care service page, there is a link to a form that you can use to tell us about both positive and negative experiences of the service. The link says 'Give feedback on care at this service'.

All of the information we receive will be added to the records we have for each care service. We can use this information to help decide where to inspect next, and what to look at when we do. When we receive information about a concern for someone's safety, we treat it as urgent.
