From 5 May 2026, you must send this document with your provider application if it includes locations that require building regulations approval.
Why we want to see this evidence
Your building control final certificate confirms that building work at your premises is complete and safe. We cannot register you if any of your locations require building regulations approval, but you have not received it yet.
We also need a copy of this certificate before we can arrange a site visit to premises that require building control approval.
Site visits are part of our assessment of your application. If we cannot visit your premises when we ask to, we will refuse your application.
What to include
Your certificate must be issued by either Local Authority Building Control (LABC) or Approved Inspector Building Control (AIBC).
Building regulations approval is separate from planning permission. Depending on your circumstances, you may need both.
