The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has re-rated child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) wards at the Becton Centre, run by Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust as good following an inspection on 16 and 17 December.
CQC carried out the inspection to follow up on breaches of regulation in safe care and treatment and good management identified at the previous inspection. Also, as part of CQC’s continual checks on the safety and quality of healthcare services.
At this recent inspection, CQC found the service had made sufficient improvements and they are no longer in breach of regulations.
Following this inspection, CQC has re-rated safe, effective, caring and responsive as good. Well-led has improved from requires improvement to good.
The overall rating for Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust remains as good.
Inspectors found:
- Staff understood how to protect people from abuse and the service worked well with other partner organisations to do so.
- Staff ensured that all wards were safe, clean, well equipped, well furnished, and fit for purpose to meet people’s needs.
- Staff supported people to live healthier lives and ensured that healthy living advice was tailored to each person’s needs.
- Staff treated people with compassion and kindness, they also respected their privacy and dignity.
- Leaders had the skills, knowledge and experience to run the service effectively and do so with openness and honesty.
- Staff planned and delivered people’s care and treatment with them, to ensure it met their individual needs.
