A series of programmes about CQC are due to air this month on Age UK’s digital and online radio station, ‘The Wireless’.

Featuring interviews with our staff, including an inspector, an ‘Expert by experience’ and our Chief Executive, David Behan, the programmes aim to explain CQC’s unique role in driving improvements in the quality and safety of care services.

There are four programmes in total, each one looking at a different aspect of our work:

  • CQC who? Why the regulator matters if you use health and social care services (broadcast: 25 November 2012, 6pm).
  • Care homes – what does good look like? Panel programme featuring Age UK and CQC (broadcast: 28 November 2012, 6pm).
  • Inspections: how CQC checks services are meeting national standards of quality and safety (broadcast: 2 December 2012, 6pm).
  • Choosing care, and what to do if you have a concern about poor care (broadcast: 2 December 2012, 6.30pm).

You can listen to the programmes at www.ageuk.org.uk/The-Wireless

Following broadcast, edited versions of the shows will also be made available on the website.
