Mental Health Act - Roles consultation outcome

From 9 May to 5 June 2014 we consulted on the proposal to change the job title for the Mental Health Act Commissioner role.

As part of this consultation, we asked:

  • Mental Health Act staff
  • Service User Reference Group
  • Mental Health Policy Team
  • Mental Health Act Advisory Group
  • Experts by Experience (through Choice Support)
  • Mental Health Inspection Directorate
  • and the Legal team

The result...

From 1 October 2014 we'll be using the title ‘Mental Health Act Reviewer’ for staff undertaking Mental Health Act activity on behalf of CQC.

Any documentation we develop in the meantime will use the new title.

We'll also work with other departments to ensure all current information is changed to refer to the MHA Reviewers and updated by 1 October 2014.
