We're asking for the views of organisations that provide health or adult social care on guidance about how they can meet the government’s new Health and Social Care Act (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

Launched today, the draft guidance includes:

There are now 11 fundamental standards of care. These will be the foundation of a system that promotes high-quality and safe care that puts people first. We are also consulting on our new enforcement policy, as the Care Act 2014 has given us greater powers to take swift action when providers are in breach of the regulations. The consultation will run for 12 weeks, closing on Friday, 17 October 2014.

Alongside this, we’re running a separate consultation for six weeks, which will end on Friday, 5 September, specifically on how NHS trusts can meet the "duty of candour" and "fit and proper person" requirements.

You’ll find full details in the press release and on the consultations page.
