Leicestershire home care service is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission has found the quality of care provided by Community Integrated Care, Leicester Regional Office, to be Outstanding following an inspection in October.

Community Integrated Care, Leicester Regional Office, provides personal care services to people living in supported living accommodation across Leicestershire. At the time of our inspection 26 people were using the service.

Inspectors found staff were caring and compassionate and people were being provided with safe, responsive, caring, effective and well-led care.

Under CQC’s programme of inspections, all adult social care services are being given a rating according to whether they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Community Integrated Care, Leicester Regional Office, was rated Outstanding for being caring and well-led and Good for being safe, effective, responsive.

Rob Assall-Marsden, CQC’s Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care in the central region said:

“Our inspection team was really impressed by the level of care and support offered to people using Community Integrated Care, Leicester Regional Office.

“We found the service demonstrated an excellent commitment to providing outstanding care which put people at the heart of everything.

“Staff continuously went the extra mile to ensure that people lived as fulfilled and enriched lives as possible. They respected people's individuality and enabled people to express their wishes and make choices for themselves.

“People were supported to use communication aids and information was provided to people in an accessible format to enable them to make decisions about their care and support. There was a very effective system of quality assurance at the service that ensured people consistently received exceptional care and support.

“We found people receiving care had an enhanced sense of well-being and quality of life because staff worked innovatively to enable them to have meaningful experiences and be active members of the local community.

“People, their relatives and the professionals involved in people’s care consistently told us the service provided exceptional care. We also found that people using the service experienced caring relationships with staff and positive interactions were evident.

“All of this meant people received a high standard of care, which is why it has been rated Outstanding.”

Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care, said:

“The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements.

“An outstanding service is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment. I would like to thank and congratulate everyone involved.”
