Essex care service is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission has found the quality of care provided by Lime Trees in Harwich, Essex, to be Outstanding following an inspection in July.
Lime Trees provides accommodation and personal care for up to six people who have a range of needs including acquired brain injury, learning disability or who may be living with dementia.
Inspectors found staff were caring and compassionate and people were being provided with safe, responsive, caring, effective and well-led care. A full report of the inspection has been published on our website.
Under CQC’s programme of inspections, all adult social care services are being given a rating according to whether they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Lime Trees was rated Outstanding for being caring, and responsive and Good for being effective, well-led and safe.
Rob Assall-Marsden, CQC’s Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care in the central region, said:
“Our inspection team were really impressed by the level of care and support offered to people living at Lime Trees."
“People were treated with kindness and compassion by staff who put people's wellbeing at the heart of everything they did."
“Staff continuously looked for ways to improve care, so people had positive experiences and led fulfilling and meaningful lives. They liaised with professionals to make sure that people's health care needs were met."
“Social interaction and community acceptance was important and opportunities integrate into the local community was a priority."
“Staff had an excellent understanding of people's backgrounds and they supported people to pursue their interests and hobbies, try new things and learn new skills."
“All of this meant people received a high standard of care, which is why it has been rated Outstanding.”
Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care, said:
“The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements."
