Cheshire care agency rated Outstanding by Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has found the quality of care provided by Right at Home South Cheshire to be Outstanding following an inspection in February 2018.

Right at Home South Cheshire provides care and support to people in their own homes including; companionship, home help and personal care. At the time of the inspection it was providing services to 37 people

The service was rated Outstanding for caring and well-led and Good for safety, effectiveness and responsiveness. A copy of the latest report can be found on our website.

This was the first inspection of Right at Home South Cheshire since it was registered in December 2016.

Some of the features of the inspection included:

The staff that inspectors spoke with clearly knew the people they cared for well and provided care in a genuinely person-centred way. Each of the care records that CQC saw contained detailed information about people's care needs, their likes, dislikes and personal histories.

Inspectors saw that people had shown significant improvement in their physical and mental health and wellbeing since receiving support from Right at Home. People said that care givers always treated them in a respectful way and provided care in a way that maintained their dignity. People, relatives and staff told CQC the service was exceptionally well-managed and communicated effectively with them.

Debbie Westhead, Deputy Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care in the North, said:

“Right at Home South Cheshire, since its inception in December 2016, has performed exceedingly well. It is very clear that they had established effective working relationships with other professionals including GPs, district nurses and occupational therapists. The professionals we contacted told us the service was well managed and maintained high standards of care and professionalism.

“People received their care from staff who were well trained and supported. Inspectors were extremely complimentary in respect of the outstanding care they delivered, saying that they were kind, caring and compassionate. Each of the people we spoke with was very positive about their relationship with their care givers and the manner in which they were treated.

“Staff we spoke with clearly knew the people they cared for and provided care in a genuinely person-centred way. People, relatives and staff told us the service was exceptionally well-managed. People using the service and relatives commented very positively about office staff who were friendly, professional and efficient. People were informed of any changes – they would get a rota each week; if there were any changes or someone is running late they would get a phone call."
