A Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report on Rampton Hospital, part of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, is due to be published tomorrow, Friday, 24 January 2020.

CQC carried out a focused inspection at the hospital on 13 and 14 November 2019. This inspection was carried out to check if improvements had been made since CQC’s visit in July 2019 when inspectors rated the service as Inadequate.

This inspection was not rated and does not change the overall rating.

Rampton Hospital is one of three high secure hospitals in England. The hospital provides services both regionally and nationally to patients who suffer from mental disorder and have dangerous, violent or criminal tendencies.

All patients admitted to the hospital are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 and are classified as having a learning disability, or mental illness or a psychopathic disorder, or both.

Following the inspection, CQC reported its findings to the trust. CQC continues to monitor the trust and this will include future inspections.

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is rated Requires Improvement overall.

The latest inspection report will be published on CQC’s website tomorrow, and will be available here: www.cqc.org.uk/location/RHA04
