People told us that staff explained all the procedures and treatments to them and respected their decisions about their treatment and care. One person said 'Everything was explained, it put me at ease.'

People who used the service told us they were happy with the care and treatment they received on the unit. One person told us "It has been a wonderful experience, everything happened when it should have happened."

We found people received care and treatment in a clean environment with infection control measures in place to minimise the risk of infection. People we spoke with told us the unit was always clean and tidy. One person we spoke with said, "Top marks, I can't be critical. The nurse's were always washing their hands, whenever they touch something they wash their hands straight after.'

We saw that staff spent one-to-one time with people and observed lots of positive communication and interaction. We also saw that staff were observant and responded quickly when people needed support. People told us 'They (the staff) are so friendly' and are 'Knowledgeable and approachable.'

The provider had an appropriate system in place for gathering, recording and evaluating information about the quality and safety of care the service provides. People who used the service and their representatives were asked for their views about their care and treatment.
