Inspection carried out on 8, 13 January 2014

During a routine inspection

We visited both surgeries over two days and we met and spoke with eight patients. This number included five representatives of the patient partnership group (PPG). We spoke with the practice manager and deputy practice manager, GPs, the practice nurse manager and healthcare assistants who were on duty. We obtained information and support from the administration staff and receptionists. We observed how the surgery was run at Pinhoe and visited the surgery and dispensary at Broadclyst with a second inspector. We looked at some of the facilities and information available to patients. We used information from the services own website and quality monitoring information and the PPG.

When we spoke with people about their experiences of the surgery they told us they were very happy with the treatment and support they received. We heard comments such as �Near perfect�, �Very quick referrals, GPs very good and a very supportive team� and �The GP knew all about me even when it wasn�t my regular GP�.

People told us about their experiences with staff of all levels at the surgery. People were very happy and found that staff were approachable, friendly and supportive. People said, �The staff are all very friendly and open�, �It�s an exceptional place� and �GPs even phone me to give me reassurance, really good service�. They found the atmosphere at the surgery comfortable, professional and not impersonal.
