During a routine inspection

We spoke with three patients and two carers. All said they were very happy with the service provided. They said that a thorough assessment was carried out prior to being offered a service and that any tests and treatments were fully explained. They said they were confident in the abilities of the staff who provided the service. Some comments made were:-

'The service is excellent. It keeps me out of hospital so I can get on with my life.'

'It's wonderful. I don't know what I would have done without the service.'

'The doctors and nurses don't rush you and they don't rush out. They take their time. They are very informative.'

'It's an excellent service. I couldn't speak highly enough of the doctors and nurses. They explained everything to us.'

'The staff answer all my questions. I feel safe with them. I can't fault the service.'

We found that patients were involved in the service provided to them. There was a clear system in place to ensure that the service was only provided to patients whose needs could be met. We found that patients were given information around their treatment and health care advice where needed. There was an effective recruitment procedure which meant patients received care and treatment from staff who were suitable for their role. We found that there were systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service and to ensure good standards were maintained.
