Inspection report

People can be confident that, if the person in charge of the service is away, it will continue to be properly managed (outcome 27)

Meeting this standard

We checked that people who use this service

  • Can have confidence that, if the person(s) in charge of their service is absent, it will continue to be properly managed and be able to meet their needs.

How this check was done

We looked at the personal care or treatment records of people who use the service.

Our judgement

The provider understood the requirement to notify the Commission of any absence of the registered manager.

Reasons for our judgement

At the inspection in October 2013 we were informed about the management changes at the service. Following this visit we were formally notified about the registered manager’s absence. The dates on the notification showed we had not been notified of the absence within an acceptable timescale. We followed this up with the provider as people who used the service needed to have confidence that if the person in charge of their service was absent, it would continue to be properly managed and be able to meet their needs.
