Our current view of the service

Updated 20 January 2025

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 22 April 2025

We found the practice had not met all regulations.

The practice did not have effective systems to manage risks.

Recruitment procedures broadly reflected current legislation. Improvements were needed to ensure that the required recruitment documentation, including evidence of conduct in previous employment, was requested at the point of employment.

The practice did not have an effective system to monitor staff training to ensure action could be taken quickly if training requirements were not being met.

Care and treatment provided to patients were not accurately recorded in the patient care records.

There was ineffective leadership and a lack of culture of continuous improvement.

Infection control procedures in place were effective.

Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.

The practice is in Wembley, in the London Borough of Brent, and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

Car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice.

The practice had 1 treatment room.At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 3 staff, of which there were 2 dentists and 1 dental nurse. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to the principal dentist during our inspection.

The provider was not complying with 1 regulation. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection findings below.

People's experience of the service

Updated 20 January 2025

Two weeks before our inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 7 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.

Comments included, “an excellent experience with highly professional team”, “a great practice who gives fantastic care to patients” and “friendly and clear about treatment”.

Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. One patient told us, “Great service, very professional and caring team. Clean and organised”.

Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. One patient said, “I have visited multiple times and always feel welcome and at ease, despite usually being anxious to visit the dentist”.

Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. One patient told us, “[The dentist] and their nurse worked really hard to make me feel comfortable and explained things exceptionally well.”

The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
