All Inspections

7 November 2013

During a routine inspection

We found children and their families expressed their views and were involved in their care and treatment.

We found people's views were clearly documented and there was a system in place to address unforeseen emergencies which arose when being supported by their volunteer.

People and their relatives told us they were happy with the care they received. One person told us 'they are very skilled' another stated 'they go beyond the call of duty'.

We reviewed the training records and found staff and volunteers received appropriate training for their roles. The training provided staff with the knowledge and skills to deliver care that was safe and appropriate for people living in their own home.

We found people has personalised care plans and risk assessments. We found for every identified risk there was a plan in place to address the risk. We saw people had daily preference lists that were used to meet their preferences.

We found the provider had a system in place to monitor the quality of the service they provided.

19 March 2013

During a routine inspection

We inspected the location and spoke with the manager. We also spoke with two parents and one volunteer.

The parent spoke about the volunteer and told us that 'The family would be lost without them, I can't fault them.'

We saw that annual surveys took place and that the comments made were very positive.

Support needs, activities and hobbies were all recorded in support plans.

Reviews of care plans and risk assessments take place every six months or sooner if the need arises.

The bi-annual steering group meetings involving the service manager, coordinators, volunteers and family members of the people who used the service took place for the three localities involved in the fun & breaks project to ensure that the audit and report findings were reviewed and lessons learnt were identified and discussed.
