We found that the provider had taken action to ensure that people who used the service were protected against the risks of unsafe or unsuitable equipment. We saw that there were arrangements in place for regularly checking equipment, and records in respect of these checks were maintained. We saw that equipment was serviced, repaired and maintained, and that faulty equipment was replaced as needed.

People, with whom we spoke, said that the staff were knowledgeable and they felt safe.. They told us that staff were professional and gave good explanations about what was going to happen and why.

Planned preventative maintenance and equipment service contracts need to be available on site to ensure staff are made aware when services are due. There were systems in place to regularly assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive, although action planning practices need development.
